temperance- speaking only of jesus Christ

Stature of a Perfect Man Con’t…

Temperance

His Temperance- “Speaking” only of Jesus Christ
He who has knowledge spares his words, And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.
Proverbs 17:27

Temperance is all about self-control, and this is in terms of “Speaking”; long before you act out, long before things are made manifest in your life they were planted (Spoken) as seeds by you or by God.

Scripture:

James 1:26

If any man among you seems to be religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

The Message:

220 Add “temperance.” Oh, my! We’ve come to temperance. Now, you’ve had faith, first; have to have that, to begin with. Then you add virtue to your faith, if it’s the right kind of virtue. Then you add knowledge, if it’s the right kind of knowledge. Now you’re going to add temperance.

221 Temperance doesn’t mean, “stop drinking alcohol,” here, either. No, no. Temperance doesn’t mean alcoholic cure, not in this case. This is Bible temperance, Holy Spirit temperance. That’s just one of the lust of the flesh, but we’re talking about Holy Spirit temperance. That means, how to control your tongue, not be a tattler; how to control your temper, not fly off every time anybody speaks cross to you. Oh, my!

222 Boy, a lot of us going to fall off before we get started, aren’t we? See? Then we wonder why God is not in His Church, doing miracles and things that they used to do. Yes, sir. See?

223 Add these things. Add temperance to it. Oh, temperance, how to answer in kindness when wrath is spoke to you. Somebody say, “You bunch of holy-rollers down there!” Don’t jump out and roll up your sleeves now. See? Not that. But talk with godly love, temperance, kindness. Is that the way you want to be? [Congregation says, “Amen.”—Ed.] When you’re riled upon, rile not back. Let Him be your example.

The Spoken Word

Long before there was a star, the universe or this beautiful planet we call Earth, there was complete and utter darkness, but instead of “speaking” of how dark it was, God said “let there be Light”.

Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. …

Notice
The very first words of God were “let there be Light”, and not “…wow, this place is dark”, or “oh what darkness”, God only speaks what he wants to be made Manifest, he desired Light so he only spoke regarding getting light.

Speaking only of Jesus

There is no insignificant details in the bible, and the main reason why the first spoken words of God in the bible was “Let there be Light”, is not that God might be able to see properly, but rather that He (God) might be Revealed. In other words he said “Let there be light” so that you can see him for who he truly is – ALL POWERFUL and get to know him; first, as the Solution or answer to your problems; when you have a need he is the provider, when there is no possibility he is a creator, where there is darkness he is the light. The more God reveals himself (His Glory and Power) to you is the more you will talk about him, the more you talk about him and his ability is the less you will worry about your problems- and the more you will manifest “self control” or temperance.

Speak as God Speaks

Beloved, God wants us to speak ONLY as he speaks. Don’t speak based on what your natural eyes reveal to you; don’t complain of your lack and weakness, but instead testify of his supply and his strength, don’t acknowledge the darkness and the blindness of the world, instead acknowledge the light (The Message) that he has given you and reveal Jesus Christ to them. You are the salt of the earth.

God Bless You
